Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 19, 2026
LinkAcc Solutions Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the AxiSub Live Captioning service. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. This policy is provided in several languages for convenience; in the event of any inconsistency, the English version prevails.
1. Data We Collect
We collect: (a) an account identifier from our authentication provider Clerk — we store the Clerk user ID and link it to your credit balance, and we never receive or store your password; your email address, name and profile picture are held by Clerk and are not stored by us. We retrieve them only to display your account details in the web app and in the extension popup; (b) transaction records when you purchase credits via Lemon Squeezy; (c) usage data such as credits consumed, feature preferences, and session timestamps; (d) basic technical data including browser type, extension version, and error logs for service reliability.
2. Audio and Content Data
Live subtitle service: while the extension is active on a tab, that tab's audio is streamed to our servers in real time for transcription and translation, then immediately discarded. Audio is processed continuously and ahead of playback, so it may be processed even if you are not looking at the subtitles or have closed the extension popup. We do not store, log, or retain audio from live sessions, and transcription and translation output is delivered to your browser and is not stored on our servers. Offline subtitle service (when available): uploaded audio and video files are stored temporarily while the job runs and are automatically deleted when it completes. The resulting transcription and translation are kept in your job history so you can retrieve them. If you choose to enter a notification email address when submitting a job, we store it with that job and use it only to tell you when the job has finished; the field is optional and no email address is stored if you leave it empty. The browser extension runs on any website so that it can detect a video playing in the page, but it only communicates with our own servers at axisub.com. To keep that connection running it sends us technical information — a random installation ID, the extension version, and technical details about the media it is processing, such as the player's state, the audio format and its timing. On request it also reports the address of the media being played. It does not read or send the address of the page you are viewing, the page title, or your browsing history.
3. Optional Diagnostic Logging
Our logs are always running, but they do not include the content of your audio or of the resulting transcription and translation. If you contact us for technical support, you may optionally consent to temporary diagnostic logging of your session data for that support case, so that we can diagnose the problem. When it is enabled, the logged data can include the audio being processed and the resulting transcription and translation, and it is stored on our servers for the duration of the investigation. Diagnostic logs are kept only as long as needed to resolve the case, and are deleted no later than 30 days after they are created. Outside of this logging, we do not retain transcription or translation output from live sessions.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to: (a) provide and maintain the Service; (b) process payments and manage your credit balance; (c) send transactional communications (receipts, balance alerts); (d) improve service quality and fix technical issues; (e) comply with legal obligations.
5. Third-Party Processors
We share data with service providers in the following categories, strictly as needed to operate the Service: identity and authentication; payment processing (the provider acts as our Merchant of Record); AI transcription and translation; cloud hosting and managed database; transactional email delivery; service monitoring and alerting; and content delivery, DNS and network security. Audio and text sent to AI providers are used only to produce your subtitles and translations, are not used to train models, and are not used to identify individuals. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. A current list of our sub-processors is available on request at [email protected].
6. International Data Transfers
Our servers and most of our service providers are located in Canada and the United States, and your data may be transferred to and processed in those countries or wherever our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. Contact us at [email protected] for more information about the safeguards we use.
7. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws. Usage statistics are retained in anonymized form. Diagnostic logs are retained as described in section 3. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with data protection authorities, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
The web platform uses essential cookies for authentication (session management) and for security — our content delivery provider sets a cookie to distinguish individual visitors from automated traffic. The browser extension uses Chrome local storage to save your preferences (language, subtitle appearance, working mode). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of our own. Some pages embed videos hosted on YouTube. When such an embed loads or plays, Google may set cookies and receive your IP address and information about your use of the player. That is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
